Academic Eligibility Checklist
Academic eligibility determines access to opportunities. This checklist helps athletes stay compliant, recruitable, and on track from high school through college.
High School (NCAA / NAIA Readiness)
Maintain required GPA in NCAA-approved core courses
Complete all required core classes on time
Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
Ensure transcripts match eligibility requirements
Prepare for and complete required standardized tests (if applicable)
Ongoing Academic Management
Meet regularly with guidance counselors or academic advisors
Monitor credits, grades, and progress toward graduation
Avoid schedule changes that impact core eligibility
Retake or recover credits early if needed
Recruiting Communication
Provide accurate GPA, class rank, and test scores to coaches
Send updated transcripts when requested
Understand admissions standards for target schools
College Eligibility & Progress
Meet minimum credit-hour requirements each term
Maintain required college GPA
Stay on track with declared major requirements
Understand redshirt, medical, and transfer eligibility rules
Final Accountability
Finish every semester strong—no “coasting”
